This form was design to be used not only for grinding spices but also perform as a serving bowl for side dishes, dips and other condiments as well. The versatile Ry Mortar and Pestle is the perfect gift or addition to your existing kitchen collection.
This form has been handcrafted in collaboration with Gaya Ceramic in Ubud, Bali. This limited-edition piece is produced exclusively by hand on the potter's wheel. The Amal Collection is a capsule of hand-crafted works designed to elevate the home and daily rituals while bringing about a sense of warmth and familiarity to your space. Once sold out this form will not be reproduced.
The Ry Mortar and Pestle is both food safe and watertight.
Produced using a verity of speckled iron clay bodies this jug is both robust and refined. The iron flecks within the clay body draw to the surface of the clay during the reduction gas firing process, as the iron particles melt they blossom creating a unique surface texture with a slight natural shimmer.
A contrasting gloss glaze has been used sparingly used alongside the high iron clay, this not only illuminates the iron flecks but also ensures the pieces are suitable for daily use.
The Mortar stands 17 cm wide by 4 cm deep. The Pestle stands 10 cm tall by 5cm wide.
